Giving Back
The BUBS 73 Foundation was established to honor a man that was known and loved by many. Chad Hildebrand, known as Bubba, was a generous, kind and lovable person. It is the mission of the BUBS 73 Foundation to continue this generosity throughout the Vicksburg community in various ways. We will be focusing on the needs and welfare of the children as well as supporting Vicksburg athletic programs.
Bubba attended Vicksburg schools his entire life, participating in many sports throughout the years. These sports included football, basketball, baseball and tennis. After school Bubba took to the softball fields for a few years and was also an avid golfer on the local courses.
Bubba was the oldest of 5 boys in his family. After graduation, he continued to attend Vicksburg sporting events supporting his younger brothers throughout the years. Bubba coached Rocket football for several years and served as assistant football coach for the freshman team one season.
On behalf of the Bubs73Foundation, we would like to thank every person who has donated their time and money to support our cause. Because of you we have been priviliged to pass on your generous contributions in Chad "Bubba" Hildebrand's name to following organizations within the Vicksbug communinty. Thank you! To date the BUBS 73 Foundation has supported the Vicksburg Community in the following ways: 2008 Chapman Memorial Church - Provided gifts and needs to children and families for the Christmas season. Sunset Lake Elementary - Providing clothing to an adopted family for Christmas. South County Community Services - A cash donation was given to provide children and their families gifts for Christmas.
2009 Sunset Lake Clothes Closet - This donation provided sweatpants, sweatshirts, socks, underwear and belts to children in need - giving them new, warm, and useful clothing. Generous Hands - This cash donation was used to support the Generous Hands Program, a small, non-profit organization committed to helping families in time of need. This donation was directed to aid in the support of the Friday Pack program, a program piloted in 2004 at Sunset Lake. This program provides backpacks of food each Friday for children K-12 who are at risk of hunger over the weekends. This donation has helped in aiding the 183 kids being served by this program.
Vicksburg Little League - Sponsorship of 2 Little League teams; One girl’s softball team and one boy’s major baseball team. Kids Connection - This cash donation was used to promote a newly organized youth center for Vicksburg students. Middle school students can be tutored, learn cooking skills and be mentored by high school students. Vicksburg High School Scholarship - Scholarship(s) awarded to a graduating high school football player. 2009 Scholarship Winners: JAKE COVILLE and BRADY NIMO 22nd Annual Vicksburg's Hearty Hustle - cash donation to help sponsor and promote health and fitness to people of all ages on May 9, 2009. Schoolcraft July 4th Parade - Walked in the parade promoting Bubs 73 Foundation

VHS Scholarships - Winners: AMANDA SWOPE and SETH BENSON
MAY 2022The BUBS 73 Foundation was created in order to raise money for scholarships for football players who were pursuing a higher education. A few years ago, the Foundation made the decision to include any female athlete to apply for this scholarship and each year the Foundation gives out two $500 scholarships. Due to the pandemic the awards ceremonies for 2020 and 2021 were held virtually and we would like to congratulate the following recipients of the BUBS 73 Foundation for those years:

As of May 2022, the BUBS 73 Foundation has provided $14,000 in scholarships!!! Way to go Bubs!!!!
